Orkney and Shetland Charters
Please read the following carefully before sending your deposit.
By sending your deposit, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.

A deposit is required to confirm your booking. This deposit is non refundable.
For Full Group Charters the balance of the charter price is payable on the date stated in the invoice, or if it is not stated therein on the 1st day of the month prior to the month of the booking as detailed in your invoice.
Cheques should be made payable to “Orkney and Shetland Charters”
Each person making a booking on behalf of another passenger, or group of passengers confirms that he/she has the authority of that passenger and that each such passenger agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If, due to unforeseen circumstances, you wish to cancel all or part of your diving holiday after your balance has been paid. Orkney and Shetland Charters cannot (unless someone else is willing to take your place) refund your charter fee. We recommend you take out holiday insurance which should cover your expenses in this eventuality.
If owing to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot provide the charter booked or a suitable alternative, we will refund all money paid to us, in full, and the passenger shall have no further claim against us.
Scapa Flow
Boarding is from 2pm on Saturday - unless by prior arrangement
Departure by 9.00am Saturday - unless by prior arrangement
Shetland
Boarding is from 7am on Sunday- unless by prior arrangement
Departure by 5.00pm friday - unless by prior arrangement
We reserve the right to vary the charter in any way we consider preferable due to adverse weather or any other conditions. The master will endeavour to find suitable alternative/sheltered dive sites if practical.
All decisions regarding the safety of the vessel, and the safety or health of those on board including during drop-off and recovery of divers, rest with the master.
In the event that the cost of fuel for the charter operations exceeds the amount allowed for within the standard charter fee, we reserve the right to charge an extra “fuel supplement” amounting to the shortfall. Details of this supplement are available on request from Orkney and Shetland Charters.
Diving within Scapa Flow will consist of 2 dives per day (unless otherwise agreed) weather conditions permitting.
Further dives can be arranged as a group (charges apply)
Air and mixed gas fills are to between 200 – 220 bar depending on filling conditions.
Meals taken on board are typically as follows:
Breakfast - 7.45 – 8.45.
Lunch - as diving permits.
Dinner - approx two hours after arrival in port.
Variations in this schedule are by prior arrangement
No meals are provided on Saturdays.
Please note that food is not included in your charter fee and will be charged at the end of your weeks stay.
Any equipment hired from the Orkney and Shetland Charters and Mv Valkyrie is used entirely at the hirers own risk and adequate insurance is recommended.
The Mv Valkyrie is fully insured to carry 12 passengers within its area of operation. Our insurance does not cover passengers who are away from the vessel or while engaged in diving activities. We do not accept responsibility for loss of, or damage to, passengers gear, property or valuables whilst onboard or in transit. With this in mind please ensure you have adequate insurance cover.
The master may refuse to carry any passenger or their luggage for any reason relating to the safety of the vessel and / or its passengers. The master also reserves the right to refuse to carry any passenger who contravenes the diving regulations relating to protected wrecks and their environs
